Driving Innovation Through Partnership
When a prominent investment management firm set out to revamp its 27,000-square-foot New York City headquarters at 299 Park Avenue, the company sought a fresh approach to private office and desk design. As a long-standing LaCOUR client since 2012, they challenged us to deliver a solution that would meet their evolving needs and rival our competitors’ latest innovations.
The Challenge
Their vision for the new NYC office required a departure from standard solutions. Despite our history as their preferred furniture provider for both New York and New Jersey locations, the client explored multiple dealers and manufacturers, searching for new concepts and advanced features. They were particularly drawn to competitor offerings that, at the time, exceeded the capabilities of our existing product line.
The LaCOUR Approach
We saw this as an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to client partnership and innovation. Through a consultative sales process, our team worked closely with the client and their architect, MKDA, to understand the precise requirements for their new office environment. Their input inspired us to push the boundaries of our design and engineering capabilities.
Our engineering and production teams collaborated rapidly to conceptualize, design, and manufacture new components tailored to the client’s specifications. This agile development enabled us to create a sales mock-up of the new desk and private office solution, demonstrating our ability to deliver bespoke innovation on a tight timeline. The result: LaCOUR’s Max Ryan product line, featuring the hanging IT Cabinet, was born from this partnership.
The Results
The project culminated in a successful installation on November 1, 2024, at the client’s 32nd-floor office in Midtown Manhattan. The new Max Ryan line not only fulfilled the design aspirations but also set a new standard for LaCOUR’s product innovation. The collaborative process transformed a competitive challenge into a showcase of LaCOUR’s agility, expertise, and dedication to client success. For the client, the project delivered more than just a refreshed workspace—it fostered a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, reinforcing their confidence in LaCOUR as a trusted partner for the future.
