King Street: Custom 208 Workstations Designed for a Multi-Team, High-Performance Environment
When King Street began planning its 30,000-square-foot office at 299 Park Avenue, the firm needed a cohesive workstation solution that could support several departments under one roof. With only 24 trading desks required, the larger challenge came from the 146 workstations needed for administrative and analytical teams—each with their own technology demands and workflow expectations.

The Challenge
The design intent was clear: every department needed a workstation layout tailored to its tools, responsibilities, and day-to-day operations. At the same time, the client wanted a single manufacturer to handle all workstations, ensuring consistency across the entire floor.
The MEP contractor’s electrical layout added complexity, pushing the boundaries of what traditional workstation systems could accommodate. To hit the schedule and maintain design integrity, the project required precision, customization, and steady coordination from start to finish.
The LaCOUR Approach
Our team collaborated closely with the dealer and design partners to understand the full scope of technology and functional requirements. From there, we developed a custom adaptation of the 208 Workstation system—maintaining its clean aesthetic while tailoring key components to support each department’s needs.
To resolve the electrical challenges, our engineering team created a custom electrified panel that allowed multiple workstations to connect seamlessly side by side. This solution kept the installation efficient, preserved the intended layout, and gave the client a simplified, single-vendor path for the entire workstation program.
The Results
King Street’s installation occurred in two phases:
-
September 1, 2019: 146 custom 208 Workstations + 24 trading desks
-
October 1, 2025: 3 additional 208 Workstations
The project not only delivered a cohesive, department-specific workstation plan but also sparked an engineering advancement. The electrified panel developed for King Street is now adaptable across additional LaCOUR product lines—extending the impact of the project well beyond a single installation.
For teams seeking a workstation program that balances flexibility, technology support, and visual consistency, the King Street project demonstrates what thoughtful customization can achieve.
